Vivienne Westwood was born in 1941. Everybody knows her name. They know she's a great designer, they do know she is brittish. A few people outside the fashion business know more, in it - everybody does. For them she is a legend of her time! Creating styles many people wish they would have come up with first. Together with Malcolm McLaren she created the punk uniform, that's when she became famous. Let it Rock, SEX, Pirates and Buffalo girls were four of the first collections they made in their shop in World's End, Chelsea. She calls her designs "Very simple, avant-garde". What is her philosophy? "Power is sexy. I like the men and women that I dress to look important. When I see that, I'm happy."
