Stella McCartney was born in 1971. She graduated from Central Saint Martins Fashion School in 1995. Two years later she started working as a creative director at Chloé. Trouser suits, vintage-inspired dresses and jetsetting holidaywear are trademark Stella-style. 2001 Stella left Chloé and started up her own fashion brand. The first Stella McCartney store opened up in New York's meatpacking district in 2002. In 2004 she was honoured with a Designer of the Year award in London. Stella is serious about animal rights and refuses to use leather or fur in her colletions. 2005 she launched a collection with Adidas and H&M.
