Miuccia Prada was born in Milan in 1950. She studied political science at the city's university and was a member of Italy's Communist Party. In 1971 Miuccia entered the family business, a highly traditional leather goods company. Twenty years later the company doesn't look anything alike. Together with her husband Patricio Bertelli (CEO of Prada Group) they've developed a high fashion brand. Prada has grown into an enormous fashion industry. The first womens collection came 1988, five years later Miuccia designed the very first Miu Miu collection for the a younger costumer (1993). Menswear came 1994 and 1997 Prada Sport and latest 2000 Prada Beauty. Miuccia says she cannot see herself as one person with one style, therefor she creates many different styles.
